There are alternate suits that certain characters (Batman, Robin, Cyborg, Lex Luthor, and The Joker) can wear that will modify their abilities. These suits are unlocked by naturally progessing through the storyline and each are worn by specific character(s).

The characters listed below will become unlocked naturally by progressing through the storyline. Others characters will require Character Tokens to unlock them at the store.

Get the ‘Activate the Elevator’ objective at the start of Hub Visit 1.

Start level 12.

Available by default.
Brainiac:

Complete Story mode.
Cheetah:

Start level 8.
Cyborg:

Start level 3 and ready the rocket.
Green Lantern:

Get the ‘Restore the Com Link’ objective in Hub Visit 2.
Indigo-1:

Progress through the storyline.
Killer Croc:

Progress through the storyline.
Lex Luthor:

Defeat Mr. Freeze at the start of Hub Visit 5.
Martian Manhunter:

Get the ‘Restore the Com Link’ objective in Hub Visit 2.
Plastic Man:

Defeat Mr. Freeze at the start of Hub Visit 5.
Robin (Lex Luthor Disguise):

Start level 12.
Robin:

Available by default.
Saint Walker:

Progress through the storyline.
Solomon Grundy:

Defeat Mr. Freeze at the start of Hub Visit 5.

Progress through the storyline.

If you let the cursor remain idle over a character at the ‘Character’ select screen the selected character will after several seconds begin singing the Batman theme from the TV show (this does not work on all the characters).
